Get ready to paddle and pig out at Pig Paddle & Party 2016! On Sunday, May 15, we will meet at the home of Todd & Dale Carroll overlooking the beautiful Etowah River for an afternoon and evening on the river you won't soon forget!
Pig Paddle kicks off at 2 p.m. with a six-mile paddle down the Etowah River from the Carroll's home to Grizzard Park in Rome. This six-mile run of river takes in historic Reynolds Bend where ancient cliffs overlook the river and shelter bone-chilling, pristine springs filling the Etowah. Further downstream, you'll paddle over rock fish dams built by Native Americans 500-1000 years ago. If there is a better introduction to paddling the Etowah, we haven't seen it.
The trip is suitable for beginners, and canoes and kayaks are provided.
After the paddle, we will return to the Carrolls for barbecue dinner, and a kayak raffle along with beer, wine, games and a special live auction
Suggested Donation: $75 per person or $130 per couple. Donation includes a year's membership in CRBI, canoe or kayak rentals, dinner, beer, wine and other beverages. At the event, one lucky patron will win a new recreational kayak.
