E.C.O. Summer Camp
E.C.O. Camp Grades 3-5 June 24-28 8 am to 12 pm
CRBI and the Rome/Floyd River Center are taking local campers and turning them into naturalist at the 2013 Summer E.C.O. Camp. The camp is a 5 day camp that lasts from 8-12 each day at the Rome/Floyd River Center and the surrounding park. The camp is geared towards having each camper learn about the natural environment by experiencing it first hand. Each day will have a new nature theme that incorporates educational programs that will train campers to be local naturalist and have tons of fun at the same time. The camp will end with a river tour of Rome on the Roman Holiday and the official naturalist pinning ceremony. Any child that likes getting wet and dirty in nature will love this camp!
Paddle Rome Camp Grades 6-8 July 8-12 8 am to 4 pm
CRBI and the Rome/Floyd River Center will guide campers down Rome's waterways for 5 days. Beginning with an instructional workshop on canoe and kayak paddling, Paddle Rome Camp will be a great experience for even the novice paddler. Campers will get to explore the Etowah, Oostanaula, Coosa, and more all while learning everything about Rome's rivers from wildlife to history. Although the camp is all about paddling, every trip is treated as an educational excursion. What better way to learn about the natural world than to explore it! This camp is for anyone nature lover looking to have some fun this summer!
