The Etowah River User's Guide, a joint book project of Georgia River Network and CRBI, will be released May 1 by the University of Georgia Press. This 184-page on-river guide with waterproof pages features more than 150 color photos and a wealth of information about the Etowah.

Arrrgggh! Round up your first mate and crew and construct your own raft utilizing recycled material and found objects and then float it down the Oostanaula, arriving at River Revelry in style to the delight of the landlubbers at the party.
The Blue Sky Outfitter Recycled Raft Race will run 1.5 miles from Ridge Ferry Park to Heritage Park. Awards in the form of cash prizes and gift certificates to Blue Sky Outfitter will be awarded in the following categories:
First Loser--(2nd Place finisher)$100 cash prize and gift certificates
Best Engineered--(think alternative propulsion methods!) $100 cash prize and gift certificates
Most Colorful--Gift certificates
Most Oddly Shaped--Gift certificates
Most Original--Gift Certificates
Most Enthusiastic--Gift Certificates
Boats should be constructed utilizing mostly recycled materials that contain no harmful products or contaminants and should be capable of floating you and your crew the entire length of the race course.
