CRBI hosts four annual major fundraisers as well as many other special events and regular paddle trips. Click on a link below to learn more about these great events.
CRBI hosts guided paddle trips on area rivers from March through November. These guided trips are free to CRBI members. Canoe and kayak rentals are available for these trips. Additionally, CRBI provides shuttle service and boat rentals for regular self-guided paddle trips on the Etowah River and canoe and kayak rentals so you can plan your own adventure on a local river or stream.

CRBI's annual spring paddle sports and environmental education extravaganza. The event includes a 13-mile canoe and kayak race down the Oostanaula River, Canoe & Kayak Tug-O-Wars, Canoe-a-thon fundraising competition and a free Environmental Fair featuring live animal exhibits and shows, children's activities, food, music and more. CRBI's annual end-of-the-summer celebration of North America's most biologically diverse river basin. The outdoor party on at the confluence of the Etowah and Oostanaula Rivers in Downtown Rome features live music, silent and live auctions, boat rides, duck races on the river, beer, wine and great food through our Barbecue Battle competition where we crown "Best Barbecue in the Basin." A race like none other. This run-bike-paddle adventure through Downtown Rome and its secluded urban forests will test even the hardiest of athletes. Competitors must scale each of Rome's famous seven hills and paddle all three of the city's rivers, plus a couple of creeks to boot! Racers from across the Southeast converge on Rome in late September to compete. Learn more.
What do you get when you put together 50 volunteers, 1600 filets of catfish, 100 pounds of breading and hushpuppy mix, 40 pounds of grits and a mess of cole slaw? You get a CRBI Fish Fry! In this annual rite of fall, CRBI volunteers serve up the best fish fry in North Georgia. And, its accompanied by a Green Expo featuring exhibits on how consumers can protect our natural world by using environmentally friendly products. Learn more.
