Join concerned citizens from across the state at Liberty Plaza adjacent to the state capital as we ask Georgia legislators to restore honesty in government!

Our rally will feature speakers, including legislators, highlighting the many fees that Georgia citizens pay each year that are supposed to be used for specific purposes, but instead get diverted to other portions of the state budget.

And, we'll build a giant replica of the state capital building in scrap tires.

Attendees will urge legislators to introduce and adopt a resolution creating a constitutional amendment that puts an end to the annual legislative looting of programs like the Solid Waste Trust Fund, Hazardous Waste Trust Fund, Joshua's Law and many others.

Come early at 8 a.m. and help build a mammoth replica of the state capital with scrap tires.

Stay after the rally and visit with your local legislators at the capital.

About the Hazardous Waste and Solid Waste Trust Funds
Since these funds were created in 1993, tipping fees that we pay at landfills and a $4 fee imposed when we purchase a set of new tires have generated $469 million for the state. Unfortunately, allocating those funds for their intended purposes is left to legislators. Of the $469 million collected, about 40 percent ($193 million) has been used to fund other portions of the state budget. In the 24-year history of the these funds, legislators allocated funds equal to or greater than the amount collected just seven times.

As a result, the state has a backlog of hazardous waste sites needing cleanup and dozens of illegal tire dumps in need of remediation.
